              Our Mission

Our mission is to maintain the economic viability of the agricultural  communities, the recreational opportunities, and the tourism trade in Huron County, while improving and protecting water quality in the Saginaw Bay.  We will address drainage, ice and flooding issues.  We will encourage all land users and homeowners to adopt and support conservation practices.  We will work toward improving, protecting, and maintaining wildlife habitat.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality announced Monday the award of water quality grants including two in Huron County.  The Huron Conservation will receive $409,225 for the Pinnebog River Watershed Implementation project and $285,852 for the Pigeon River Watershed Planning project.  Once agreements are signed more information will be available.
