Annual Poster Contest

A hallway with walls covered in children's artwork, and a few people admiring it.

Each year the District sponsors a poster contest with a conservation theme.  The posters are displayed in the hall of the USDA Service Center for staff from the offices along with the District board to view and vote for their favorite posters.  Each student receives a certificate of achievement for participating and cash awards are given to the students with the top four posters in each of the five divisions.  The first place poster from each division then are sent on to the state competition held later in the year.  In 2017, we received 324 enteries from 12 area schools. The theme for 2018 was “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home”.  We had four winner at the state level. For 2019 the theme will be “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper”.
